哥伦比亚:扫盲教育使我们成为更优秀的公民

扫盲教育为我们带来了希望,使我们成为更优秀的公民。正因为如此,我们必须继续努力推进社区教育进程,扫盲教育文化必须被升级为中级教育的基础,总有一天,我们会实现终生教育的梦想。

    女士们,先生们,下午好!
  今天我获得了这个如此重要的奖项,并且得知孔子所提倡的宽容、互敬、和谐、无私、尽职将会激励我们的同胞,将会出现在我们的社区,使他们从社会中重获安定生活的希望,然而,在过去,这是不可能实现的。在此,我谨代表哥伦比亚弱势群体的青少年、成年人,以及他们的老师、他们居住的社区,表达无比的骄傲。 
  我们真心地感谢联合国教科文组织和中国政府授予我们这个奖项。另外,我们看到在教科文组织章程中,对于生活在贫困、文盲、歧视状态下的青少年及成人的教育关怀,教科文组织还召开了多次会议,如终身学习会议和成人教育第五、六次会议等。在这些会议上,我们为基金会的发展找到了政治及行动上的指引,理论上的支持和现实的思想。
  同时,国际成人教育协会(ICAE)也曾给予我们很大的帮助。他们向我们提供了培训,帮助了超过30万人的弱势群体及贫困人士。最终,他们完成了基础学习,重新就业。该组织还推荐我们参加此奖项的评选。
  以上提到的诸位都是获奖者,他们的付出促进了贫困和弱势群体的教育事业,使我们的世界更加美好。他们为所有有志于这项事业的人树立了榜样,我想对他们说,十分感谢,感谢你们激励着我们。
  社区学习的需求源自拉美及加勒比地区的贫困,对此,教科文组织和CEPAL也表示,如果他们能够接受12岁等级的教育,这些社区都可以脱离贫困。因此,对于教科文组织和我们基金会的工作不能只限于读写的教学。
  教育与贫困社区学习的需求已经与信息技术相结合,共同提高教育和全面学习的质量。众所周知,学习技能对生活及工作环境都是很有帮助的。通过创造社会福利,维护共存的社会和谐,提高生产能力,为农民、刚入行的生产者和家庭妇女等群体创造利益。
  我必须推进在研究层面的学习。对于青少年和成年人,我们将会推广写作与数字文化方面的项目。另外,这也会给他们提供一个战胜贫困、辍学和暴力的机会,同时也给他们的子女一个更好维护权利的环境。
  扫盲教育为我们带来了希望,使我们成为更优秀的公民。正因为如此,我们必须继续努力推进社区教育进程,扫盲教育文化必须被升级为中级教育的基础,总有一天,我们会实现终生教育的梦想。
  最后,我想对哥伦比亚,我敬爱的祖国说,感谢您,请您对变革基金充满信心。我们明白,联合国教科文组织孔子教育奖是一个承诺,更是一个鼓励,为的是支持我们付出的努力,同时也为了把我们的经验分享给需要的人。我们坚信,只有坚持原则,努力工作,才能实现目标,我们会实现变革。

  Good afternoon,

  Ladies and gentlemen,

  On behalf of Colombian youth and adults from vulnerable communities, their teachers and their communities in which they inhabit, we proudly receive this important award knowing that values such as tolerance, mutual respect, social harmony, altruism and dutifulness proclaimed by Confucius-whose prize’s name honorably carries out his name-will be inspiring our labor and will be projected in the communities that are focused on regaining their hope for well and peaceful living supported by a society that unfortunately, rejected them before.
  We truthfully appreciate UNESCO and the government of People’s Republic of China for this award as well. In addition, we have found in UNESCO’ guidelines inspiration for working concerning youth education as well as adults that live in poverty, illiteracy contexts, social exclusion and basic unconcluded education; therefore, we kindly thank UNESCO institute for lifelong learning(UIL), Confintea’s organizers V and VI conferences from which we have found political and motivational guidelines, theorical foundations and insight thoughts for our foundation improvement.
  At the same time, we have been advised and strengthened by the international council for adult education(ICAE)-who proposed us as candidate for this award-by providing us essential tutoring in order to achieve our objectives helping more than 300,000 people that lived in vulnerable and poverty conditions, and as an outcome, they could finally finish their basic studies leading them to be working back in Colombian society, always foreseeing progress having in mind values and skills.
  The mentioned above are winners, winners for their meaningful work building and making our world a better place for education concerning people living in poverty and exclusion conditions. Their work sets an example for all those who want to contributes and for this, we would like to say thank you very much, thank you for inspiring us.
  Community learning needs embodies by poverty in Latin-America as well as in the Caribbean have lead UNESCO and CEPAL to state that these communities will come out from poverty if they are exposed to education on a 12 year-basis, meaning that for Foundation Transformemos on accordance to UNESCO, youth and adult education can’t be narrowed to simply reading and writing teaching.
  Subsequently, literacy concept along with learning needs in communities that live in poverty have evolved and have allowed Information Technologies implementation as a great ally to achieve quality in education, meaningful and complete learning. Peasants, start-up producers and housewives will be benefited by creating community welfare, good coexistence fostering community harmony as well as productivity which will lead them to peace.
  One may deduce that we have to promote meaningful leanings on a research basis, For our youth and adults, we will implant meaningful project in which we will introduce them to written and digital culture. In addition, this will provide them a chance to overcome poverty, dropping-out and violence in order for them to offer their sons a better world fostering their rights.
  Literacy initializes a process that gives us back our hopes, our constitutional rights and makes us a better citizens. This is the reason we have to continue on working hard on communities education for us to achieve a dream in which one day, lifelong learning will come true.
  In summary, on behalf of Colombia, my beloved country, thank you and be confident that in “Transformaremos”, we understand this award UNESCO CONFUCIUS as a lifelong commitment as well as incentive I order to back up our efforts and teaching our experience to all those who require. We are aware that only with discipline and hard work, we will achieve our goal, we will transform them.
